OFFSITE SOLUTION: Prefabrication

Made by us, in house.

Prefabrication, specifically the construction of modulars and flat packs constructed in CLOS’ Geelong factory, offers numerous benefits that align with CLOS’s sustainability and efficiency principles.

Weather Resilience and Quality Control:

Prefabrication in a controlled factory environment eliminates the risk of weather-related damage during the construction process. This ensures the structural integrity and quality of the modules are maintained, resulting in durable and long-lasting structures.

Reduced Disruption and Quick Completion:

The construction process of modulars and flat packs is characterised by minimal disruption to the construction site. With most of the work being done off-site, on-site activities are streamlined, reducing noise, dust, and inconvenience to the surrounding environment. Additionally, the assembly process tends to be quicker than traditional construction methods, allowing for faster project completion.

Recycling Measures and Waste Reduction:

CLOS has taken recycling measures to reflect our sustainability commitment. Purchasing the Glulam line encourages recycling and reuse of timber offcuts. Our onsite structural engineers and architects utilise materials efficiently by creating sustainable engineered timber systems. In a factory setting, we can track, recycle, and dispose appropriately due to the controlled environment.

Environmental Benefits of Engineered Timber Systems:

The use of engineered timber systems for flooring, walls, roofing, and central core construction enhances environmental sustainability. Engineered timber is a renewable resource that sequesters carbon, and its use in construction contributes to lower carbon compared to traditional building materials.

Our focus extends outside construction with a focus on diversity, culture and community. We have teamed up with multiple non-for-profit organisations to reiterate our Geelong-based community focus.
