Lara Labor MP Visits CLOS’s New Factory at Ford, Impressed by Iconic Move and Community Focus

CLOS was honored to welcome the prominent Lara Labor MP Ella George to their new company location at the Ford Factory now known as Fortek. Ms George was profoundly impressed by the iconic nature of the move and the strong community focus demonstrated by CLOS.

As part of their campaign trail, Ella visited the new location to gain a firsthand understanding of CLOS's values and their commitment to the community. Ella was deeply moved by the historic significance of the move and the impact CLOS has on the local community.

Upon arrival, Ella met with CLOS CEO, John Fitzgibbon, who shared the story behind the company's relocation to the Ford site. The new location, situated within the iconic Ford complex, symbolizes the fusion of CLOS's vision combined with local employment. “CLOS are living their values – with their focus on the local community and uplifting the lives of individuals, they are having an impact in Geelong’s northern suburbs” said Ms George.

During the tour, Ella was captivated by the scale of the acquired space and how the 20,000sqm will allow CLOS to create a seamless conveyor line of modular buildings within the facility in an accelerated timeframe compared to traditional construction.

However, what truly resonated with Ms George was the depth of CLOS's commitment to community engagement and social procurement. Throughout the tour, Ella could see the vision on a personal and larger scale, and how employing those with barriers to employment from the northern suburbs is a supportive initiative paying respect to the origin of the Ford workforce.

“CLOS have a bold vision and they are taking rapid steps to scale up. I am deeply impressed by the pace at which CLOS are expanding – and, creating more jobs in Geelong’s northern suburbs.” Ella George MP

CLOS CEO/Founder, John Fitzgibbon, also expressed excitement about Ella's visit and their positive response to CLOS's values. "Ella's recognition and appreciation of our community-focus and relocation is humbling. We are proud to be at the forefront of the prefabrication curve and combining that with a community focus that drives a positive change in the northern corridor."

As CLOS continues to progress with the relocation and high-caliber clients, the visit from Ella marks a significant milestone in the MP’s understanding of the company's ethos and their alignment with CLOS's community-focused mission.
