Growth calls for CLOS expansion to Fortek

After continued growth and success, we have outgrown our current location and are excited to make the move to a larger, more progressive facility. Our new location will allow us to form a high-tech conveyor line to achieve a high quality, innovative product.

The new facility is located in North Geelong, offering 20,000 square metres of space - equivalent to 10% of the Ford factory - allowing us to expand our operations, use our machines to their full capacity and improve efficiency. With a fully running program, CLOS will be able to deliver 500-1000 prefabricated homes a year. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and custom-made amenities to provide top-quality service to our customers. As mentioned in Built Offsite magazine, overhead gantry cranes will prove invaluable to CLOS, enhancing the modular business and significantly boosting productivity.

“We are excited about this new chapter in our company’s history and re-establishing manufacturing at the iconic Ford factory,” said John Fitzgibbon, CEO & Managing Director of CLOS. “The move to this new facility is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as the support by our stakeholders and community. We look forward to moving to the new location and continuing to grow our business.”

The iconic location of the old Ford factory holds a rich history as the main hub of manufacturing in Geelong. Commencing production in 1925, it has witnessed a century-long legacy in the manufacturing industry. Now, almost 7 years after closing, CLOS will make its mark on Geelong's employment and history in this significant place, focusing on employing team members from the northern corridor.

In contrast to it’s original purpose of manufacturing cars, the factory will now blend community and alternative housing, while proudly being at the forefront of prefabrication growth.

CLOS would like to thank our clients, partners, and employees for their continued support, and looks forward to welcoming them to our new facility.
