Earlier in the day, CLOS welcomed a special visit from Hon Richard Marles and Lara MP Ella George, who toured the factory during work hours. They had the opportunity to witness the machines in motion, gaining firsthand insight into our manufacturing processes.

Mr Marles and Ms George were in awe and excited for how CLOS’s prefabrication and expertise can assist the housing shortage and offer local employment.

Following on from the government and housing focussed visit from Marles and George, CLOS opened the factory doors showcasing where history met modernity in the reclaimed Ford factory, our commitment to sustainability, prefabrication, and community collaboration. An afternoon of exploration was enjoyed by 93 individuals, including respected clients, collaborators, and our extended family and friends, who had the opportunity to explore the transformation of this historic site.

A range of projects was on display, encapsulating prefabrication, sustainability, and modern design, which attendees were eager to see.

Prefab and modular design were highlighted as environmentally and consumer-conscious approaches to construction. Attendees had the chance to learn about various aspects of prefab, from design differences compared to traditional construction to understanding timelines, logistics, and the robustness of modular construction – by the CLOS team.

The CLOS Factory Open Day provided an immersive experience, inviting attendees to be a part of the journey towards a sustainable and collaborative future. Together, we commemorated the past, embraced the present, and looked forward to building the future.

Additionally, Channel 9's Allan Raskall visited the factory, capturing footage for a piece that aired on Friday. His presence added to the excitement of the event, further amplifying the exposure of our commitment to sustainability, prefabrication, and community collaboration.

All in all, Friday 9th February was one to remember – a day to celebrate the growth and opportunities that we as a manufacturer are experiencing with a move to such a historic factory.

The buzz, feedback and enquiries post Friday’s events show a positive future for the team at CLOS.
